SBTS Needs You Now More Than Ever
Dear Friends,
When faced with hardship, the timeless words of William Shakespeare remind us that we are not alone and inspire an unstoppable spirit. This holiday season, as we face difficult decisions, we are leaning into community and the belief that access to the arts brings people together.
Since 1998, almost half a million people have experienced our admission-free performances. For decades, our parks have been places for families, friends, and neighbors to gather and be moved, comforted, and inspired by Shakespeare’s words. We find ourselves facing one of the most difficult moments in our history.
We are at a Crossroads
You may not realize that most tour fees are paid after the shows, and we often wait 60-90 days after the summer for government and foundation support to be received. Meanwhile, the bulk of our expenses are incurred from January to June. The small reserves we had built up before 2020 to kickstart each January are gone.
In order to begin planning our 2026 season, we need to raise $200,000 by January 31. Without immediate support, the summer traditions we have shared with you for 28 years may come to an end.
- Here’s the good news! Between 11/23 and 12/19, we have raised $41,218 toward our goal. We know that together, we can do this! We are working tirelessly to see that we can have another season.
Why Your Support Matters
Unlike other festivals that perform in one location, SBTS brings free professional theatre to multiple communities across three regions. For so many families, our performances are a beloved annual tradition.
If our work has made you laugh, weep, or feel inspired beneath the summer sky, please consider making a gift today.
